A FAIR NEXT CHAPTER
Find your phone’s IMEI with *#06#
An IMEI identifies a mobile device. It helps us match a quote to the handset during inspection, but a correctly typed number does not prove ownership or a clean lost/stolen status.
Use the phone’s dial pad
Open the dial pad and enter *#06#. Find the item labelled IMEI or IMEI 1 and enter its 15 digits in the secure request form. Do not use the longer EID or an alphanumeric serial number.
Dual-SIM phones can show a second IMEI
IMEI 2 is optional in our form. Only add it if your phone shows a second, different 15-digit IMEI. Leave it blank rather than repeating IMEI 1.
If the dial code is unavailable
Check Settings → About on an iPhone or Settings → About phone on Android. Ask us before submitting if you cannot find the number; never substitute someone else’s identifier.
Keep it private
Do not publish an IMEI in public reviews or a social post. PhoneFairAU stores it with the private quote record, not in the public catalogue. We do not automatically send it to a third-party checking service.
What inspection still needs to establish
Device identity, authenticity, ownership, account and network locks, and lost/stolen restrictions require review before acceptance. A format check catches entry mistakes only.
